At its surface, The Nevers is a Victorian-era sci-fi fantasy. The story begins in London, 1896—a time of gaslights, corsets, and rigid social hierarchies. Three years prior to the start of the series, a mysterious, shimmering event dubbed "The Hymn" or "The Coming" occurred.
