I was worried about the hinge in the middle. Would it create a pressure point on my boot? No. The hinge is recessed when open. You cannot feel it, even in thin-soled rubber boots.
I have used this in rain, sleet, and 15°F temps. The anodizing has worn off the high-contact edges (where the strap rubs), but that’s cosmetic. The hinge bolt is still tight. The teeth on the back are still sharp enough to draw blood if you run your finger across them. bushwhack flp

I did have to put a drop of blue Loctite on the cam lever bolt after 20 uses, as it started to vibrate loose on a long ATV ride. That is standard maintenance for any mechanical platform.
