The.conjuring.2 — !!top!!

The battle lasted three more nights. Janet wrote backward in Latin on the walls. A chair folded itself into a perfect origami of splinters. Ed’s tape recorder captured a voice that said, “My name is Legion,” before melting the internal wires.

Then the crucifix on the wall flipped upside down.

Take the "Shelley’s Tent" scene. Young Janet is asleep in a back room; the camera slowly pans down a dark hallway. We see the door to the tent. Nothing happens. The camera pulls back, then pushes in. Still nothing. Just as your brain relaxes, the tent inflates violently, and the camera whips around to reveal a shadow standing where there was none. It is a perfect magic trick of timing. Whether you are a seasoned horror fan or a newcomer trying to survive your first watch, The Conjuring 2

They arrived at Green Street on a Tuesday. Ed carried a tape recorder and a wooden crucifix. Lorraine carried the weight of the other side. The moment she stepped through the door, she stopped breathing. The hallway smelled of rot and old cigarettes. And there, in the corner of the living room, she saw something that made her turn away. The battle lasted three more nights

It started with a whisper. Not words, exactly—more like the dry rustle of dead leaves scraping against the inside of the walls. Then the furniture began to move. A chest of drawers slid across the bedroom floor of her daughters, Margaret and Janet, as if pushed by an invisible hand. Peggy grabbed a kitchen knife and screamed for them to get out.

Lorraine stood in the doorway, trembling. Her sight had opened fully now. She saw the truth: Bill Wilkins was just the bait. The real predator was a demon of mockery. It had attached itself to the house decades ago, feeding on grief. It had no name, no form—only a voice. And that voice whispered directly into her mind: Ed’s tape recorder captured a voice that said,

What separates from standard horror fare is the direction. James Wan is the Steven Spielberg of fear, and his camerawork here is revolutionary.
