Microsoft Visual Foxpro 6.0
History buffs will recall that 1998 was the final stretch before the Y2K crisis. Visual FoxPro 6.0 played a heroic role in legacy modernization. FoxPro 2.x for DOS stored dates as two-digit fields. VFP6 offered robust date handling (century-enabled) and migration tools to convert old apps to 32-bit Windows without losing data integrity. Many banks and manufacturing plants owe their Y2K compliance to rushed VFP6 migration projects.
