The series began as a Twitter (now X) webcomic in January 2020. Nagano started posting one-page, four-panel, or short comic strips featuring these minimalist characters. Almost immediately, the strips went viral. Unlike traditional kid-friendly anime, is serialized online and later compiled into tankōbon (physical volumes) by Kodansha.
