In 2015, Station Eleven was shortlisted for the National Book Award for Fiction, and it won the 2015 Arthur C. Clarke Award for Best Novel. The book has also been translated into numerous languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide.

One of the most haunting sections of the book takes place in an airport, where a stranded former actor, Clark, creates a makeshift “Museum of Civilization.” He collects artifacts from the pre-pandemic world: a toaster, a cell phone, a credit card.
